About

CONAN is a Sydney-based multidisciplinary design studio working across objects, furniture, clothing and space. The studio explores the relationship between form, material and function, considering how objects inhabit space and shape the way we experience the everyday.

Each project is developed through a considered approach to proportion, materiality and construction, contributing to an evolving visual and material language.

Rather than being defined by a single discipline, CONAN operates between them - allowing ideas, processes and materials to inform one another as the practice continues to evolve.

Collection One: Light

Collection One begun with an observation of light in everyday life - how it moves across surfaces, passes through spaces and alters the objects it encounters.

The collection draws from an accumulation of everyday experiences and environments, observed through a personal lens. Lines, proportions and structures become points of reference, informing an exploration of the relationship between form, space and the body.

Materials were selected not only for their inherent qualities, but for how they respond to light - revealing subtle shifts in tone, texture and form as they move between shadow and illumination.
